Our Volunteers on the News
“Every time you do a good deed you shine the light a little farther into the dark. And the thing is, when you're gone that light is going to keep shining on, pushing the shadows back.” - Charles De Lint
We have quite a few volunteers who have been helping out and volunteering in many areas, such as the Life Journaling Project, Memory Makeover Project, Wheelchair Repair Project, and Craftwork R&D Project, and recently, some of them have been interviewed and featured on newspaper such as Sin Min Ri Bao(新明日报), Zao Bao (早报), and Lian He Wan Bao(联合晚报).
A summary of our volunteer’s experiences as below.
Memory Makeover Project featured on Sin Min Ri Bao新明日报
A few times in a month, our volunteers will go to the nursing home to befriend them and to help the residents to do simple make-up and simple photo-shoot, livening the atmosphere in the community.
“Some elderly tends to repeat what they said, or may not be clear with what they said, but all this is not an issue, as long as we listen to them patiently, accompany them, chit chat with them, they will be very happy, and I feel that I have done something meaningful.” - Ivy How

“If people bring this wheelchair to a professional shop for repair works, it will cost some money, but if they cannot afford the money, and I can help for free, why not make their day with my help?” – David Tay [translated from Chinese]
